The virus is shed in the feces and vomit but the incubation period is supposed to be about 7-10 days, until then a parvo test will show negative. That said the symptoms can vary from dog to dog, some dogs die from it while others have symptoms that are barely noticeable and arent even treated medically, depends on the age, breed and the dogs own immune system.
Doesnt exactly answer your question but unless you know exactly when the dog was exposed then you dont know how long the incubation period has been. Ive personally known of dogs that were in contact with an infected dog, 3 days later one pup was dead from it, another one the following day and another didnt show symptoms until about a week or so later.
Once a dog has recovered it will still be shedding the virus in the feces for about a month. Some dogs can carry it and dont get sick at all. |
