My niece is 7 and she has wanted a dog forever. my sister got one for her for xmas. It is a brown/black lab mix, I think possibly pit bull is the mix. The people at the pound say she is 3 months old, but she looks really small (for a 3month old lab)Luther weighs about 20 lbs and he is slightly larger than the puppy.
First question: Any good names? so far the have thought of Toetoe, because she has one toe on each of her back feet, that are white. Another name that they liked a lot was Reesse Pup, my other sister has a choco lab named Snickers, so they thought that would be funny. My neice really wanted Juliette. Her dad wants a one syllable name. so any good suggestions??
Next question, any good books I could get for my niece about taking care of a puppy? She is a pretty good reader for her age. She reads American girl books. so any good books? Possibly something that my sister could enjoy/ be helped reading. My bil had a dog for 13 years, so he is very stuck in his way is the right way to raise a dog and doesn't really listen to suggestions, so I want something for my sister and niece who don't know anything about dogs. so any ideas??
thanks!!

Sounds like a cute pup! Nala was about 15 pounds at three and a half months old and is now 50 pounds full grown. Errr, actually 45 now - I slimmed her down a little.

Ian Dunbar has some nice puppy books.
