Yes it will be easier to maintain. The water parameters will be alot more stable in a 29 gallon compared to a 10 gallon. Also if any minor mistakes are made it will effect a 29 gallon less than it would in a 10 gallon. :D

I was always told a 10 gallon is the hardest freshwater tank to maintain. Any little change is usually catastrophic. The bigger you go, it gets a little easier to maintain water level wise.

yeah i was thinking about getting a bigger tank too. I have a 10 gallon tank and i just wanna get a bigger one with more fish and a underground filter. Are they any good? But how many fish do you think i could fit in a 20 gallon tank.

If you're planning to put the orandas in the 20 you won't be able to put in any other fish (you'll also have to get a bigger tank for the orandas). For 20 gallons your could go with tetras, guppies, paltys, swordtails, danios etc. Think 1 gallon of water per 1" of fish.

Underground filters are things from 5 years ago...Unless you have the filter head that goes with it. Without the filter head, the waste will collect on the bottom of the tank and sit, or be circulated around the tank.

Underground filter is a no. To but it simple, they SUK! Goldfish tend to neeed bigger tanks because of how much waste they produce, they quickly pollute the water and kill themeselves. A 20 gallon isnt as limited as you think. Theres a wide variety of dwarf cichlids, or the common stuff like the guppys and platys Rolling Eyes .

Get a hang on the back filter, for goldfish preferabley a biowheel, but for other fish aqua clear, and get a 29 if your keeping goldfish.
