We got two sept 4th. I had said we wanted two females as we didnt want babies.
At first we were concerned with the blue one but he (has a blue cere) seems ok. But then the green one (not sure if it is a boy or girl) didnt seem to eat. We saw the blue one eating but never the green one...So my dh handfed the green ones some peas/corn which he ate...but we are thinking that maybe the blue one is bullying the green one and that is why the green one doesnt eat? The blue one is seen at the food all the time...so what do we do? Take back the green one and just keep the blue one? Because we know the blue one eats...or take back the green one another one? HELP! |

First of all... there is no need to return any of the birds... all birds deserve a good home.
How many food dishes do you have? If you only have one you should get another one in there so they can both eat at the same time.
SInce you have only had the birds a few days... give it a couple to a few weeks for them to get adjusted. some birds will be shy and you will not see them eating at first... I always get butterflys about new birds but you will soon realize that you cant remember what they were like when they were shy
just be patient and please dont return any... they have seen the light and it would be horrible for them to go back to the pet store!! |

I agree make sure there is 2 food and water dishes in the cage this will encourage the other to eat aswell.
Some new birds will not eat until its quiet with no-one around this is normal until they adjust to there new surroundings.
Do not feed corn as this can not be digested properly and can cause a blockage.
Try hanging some millet spray in the cage see if this helps.
What type of dishes did the pet store use.
If your dishes are different try using they used in the store this will help the bird settle quicker.
Do not give up yet it can take a couple of weeks for a bird to settle completly
