My old heater died the other day, so I got a new one. It is an All-Glass brand, 50 Watt submersible aquarium heater. It's been on constantly for a full 24 hours and when I got home from work it was still on, and the temp in the tank is almost 90!!! I have it on the lowest possible setting too. Am I doing something wrong? The box says it has a lifetime warranty? Could there be something faulty with the heater? Will my poor lil fish be ok? I unplugged the heater for now until I can figure out what's going on. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'd return it and get another one. It probably has some bad connectors inside.

Return it. It is defective. The relay contacts are sticking.
