Surprised My great Grandmother says you pick up a yorkie by its paw but I think it should be by its chest and under paw

I would never pick a dog up, of any size, by its paws. Place one hand under the chest and one hand under its butt. I also will hold the front leg furthest away from me so they dont suddenly jump out of your arms.
