How long has it been since you got him? It could be that he is just stressed out by the move, and all he need is time to get used to you and his new home. But he should't go too long without eating and drinking, and if he has maybe you should take him to the vet. It's very bad for kitties to get dehydrated...

That is consideribly older to rehome, but cats of all ages can be rehomed. If you just recently got him, give him some time to reajust. Or you could try keeping him in just one room with his food/water and litter box. This might make the transition easier for the both of you. Also, he may feel less scared if he doesn't have the whole house to get to know. And he may eat and eliminate for freely.
Please remember about your local animal shelter before buying an animal. There are thousands of homeless animals that need homes.
