How many? I think you can keep one in a 30 gallon.

No, I don't think a ten gallon will do. However, if you want some info on piranhas, I hope no one things I am advertising anything but, if you go to piranha-dury there are like over 2000 members who just about all have piranhas, but be careful because some of their information may not always very accurate or as accurate as it might appear.

I have to disagree with 30 gallons. I'm not really a piranha expert, but red bellied piranhas (most commonly available) get around 12" long and prefer to be in groups. So if you wanted to keep 3, I'd say at least a 100 gallon.

I have 2 20G's I can't even begin to imagine how 2 full grown piranah's would be able to move in a 20, let alone with lots of plants and ornaments.

they are completely leading you on with this one. A 75 gallon will be sufficent for 3 rbps long term, but the more room (and the more p's) the better. Anything less and you've got dead piranha.

They really are very shy and need to be kept in groups. It's also a good idea to give them hiding places like long plants (artificial are fine). They will remain mostly at the top or middle. The big tank is a must!
