| I think you should get a 5 gallon minimum to house your fry, but a 10 gallon would be even better. In a 1 gallon tank it will be hard to get the cycle to stick and keep it stable. |

| in reality a 5 or 10 gallon is cheaper then a 1 gallon. Most places will only sell u a 1gallon starter kit, while just a 10 or 5 gallon is $10, but hood and tank combo is like $25, while a 1gallon is about $50 + for a starter kit tht comes with nothing more then the tank, light filter. |

My 10 gallon starter kit was 50 bucks(tank, hood, light, filter, heater)...but my 1.5 gallon starter kit was 12 bucks(tank, hood, light, air thing). Yeah, they sell tanks by themselves for 10 bucks, but nothing else. Unless you have extra stuff at home, it's going to cost you more to buy everything seperate.
They would be okay for a few in the little tank, but they really need to be in a big tank, 10gal atleast if you have nine of them. Good luck on your fry! |

Actually looking in my area i think its cheaper to buy everything seperate, here a common starter kit averages $70 (10 gallon). Buying tank and light and hood alone costs $25+, and add on the filter for $20, u got $45 for EXact same stuff, except $25 cheaper.
(10 gallon starter kit here comes with hood, light, tank, filter, and a small sample of food and water conditioner enough just for setting up the tank and 1 week of feeding)
Decorations you have to buy seperate for either one, so that makes no diffrence. |
