I have two female platies, both of which I believe to be pregnant, one is VERY large and the other has a gravid spot. I also have 3 male guppies.
Lately they have been swarming my platies, they do not bite, or push, or otherwise harm the platies, they just won't back off. They follow them non-stop which obviously irritates my platies as they try to swim away at top speed.
Are they trying to breed with them, or following them waiting to eat the babies, or something else?

I dunno, I have the same problem with my guppies. Originally I had two male guppies, then one male would follow and harass the other male. So I added my male and female platy and the male guppies would follow the platies then I added two female guppies and the two males follow them no stop and one male also follows both the male and female guppies, I so I don't know. I would like to know the answer to that question myself also, thanks for posting that.
