new tank at the office

argh, I just wrote a really long post and it disappeared on me!!
anyway, I need help on starting up an office tank. I work at a temp agency and one of our clients is Tetra, so they gave us a tank.
any suggestions on fish to get for it? they need to be pretty and resillient.
also right now we have an angel fish (who is not doing good at all, any suggestions) and some sort of shark with orange fins.

ok, so what size tank did you get? and do you know the dimensions? and what type of fish are you looking to get? like peaceful community, species tank, african community, etc.

it is a 20 tall, but my boss ended going out and loading up on them.
When i first wrote the post I had lots of info, but then it logged me out!!
Anyway, I haad the water tested and everything was reading fine, but the angel fish still died, so they told me it must have been a bad fish that they gave us.
Now we have 3 platy's, one is black/blue/yellow, one is orange with "mickey mouse" on its tail, one is yellow, blue green, then 2 neon tetras, one blueberry tetra, one striped shark and 2 rainbow sharks, so 9 total.
Next week I want to get some plants, any suggestions?

The blueberry Tetra is probally a ink dyed tetra. The two Rainbow sharks you have will most likely fight, because they are very territorial and should be kept one per tank and need a tank of at least 50 gallons. It depends on what kind of light the tank has( power compact, fluorescent tube ex), but some low light plants you could consider are Jeva fern, Java moss, and Anacharis.

I thought all tetras got dyed? I don't know though.
Oh hope the sharks don't fight, that would stink! I did notice they were tending to stick to certain spots. If I get more plants/decorations will they not be as likely to fight? but they are still little, maybe an inch long or so, do they still need a 50? if they get bigger, we can trade them back at the fish store for smaller fish. The tank has just the plain ole' flourescent tube light.

Tall tanks usualy are cr@p. Most fish need/perfeer long swimming space not tall, u definatly need to lose the sharks, unless u dont plan on getting attached to the fish then u can exchange them when they get big.

Another thing is u gotta take out the "They" and make it a "it".
2 sharks is 2 many. Like mentioned they are very territorail and WILL fight.

Not all tetras are died, tetras are rarely died.
Strawberry/blueberry tetras are died. Soon the color fades and its just a white tetra.
Tetras are schooling fish, so they need to be in groups of the same kind of tetra. I think you should get like 5 neon tetras, 5 emperor tetras, and 5 black tetras would be a great way to start a tank, it would be nice to have 3 seperate groups of fish swimming around, and they all have colors.

Before u buy more fish you should ask about them or do research to make sure they will do fine in a 20g.
You especially shouldnt get long fish in a 20g tall since there aient much swimming space.

Too bad the angel died, you wouldnt be able to keep it anway because they bet much to big for a 20g.

So far on ur tank the platies are fine, u need to add more neon tetras and more blueberry tetras. Get rid of all the sharks.

Two Rainbows in a 20 is going to cause trouble. You need a HUGE tank to be able to keep the two far enough apart so they wont notice eachother. I'm not even sure if they will get along even if they grow up together. They also like caves, FYI. But you should probably get rid of the sharks and add more neons and tetras.

I say do a colorful community tetra tank with neons, rasboras, cherries, serpae, etc. If you had a 50+ I would suggest cichilds, cause I have seen one in my dental office and it looks very nice.
