OK guys please give us some hope, Betty (9 months old now) hasn't ate her dog food since Thursday night. That is now 2 nights ago and I'm very worried. I talked to the vet earlier today and scheduled an appointment for 8 pm Monday night. I'm going crazy and I'm afraid something is horribly wrong. The vet will be doing blood tests etc.

She did eat a pig ear last nite, had two small milkbones today. Has also turned down those milkbones along with a dehydrated chicken breast yesterday and today as well. Her only pre-existing ailment is that she has allergies and now has stopped taking her histamine pills as well. Just turns her nose at them when she normally s**k them out of our hands.

I went to a pet store today and bought some wellness brand food, chicken and brown rice for a change (we normally feed her avoderm chicken and brown rice) and she won't eat that either. Fortunately the ladies there fed her three or four treats and she happily ate those.

I'm confused and scared and I'm afraid it could get worse before monday nite??? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It's all a waiting game now I guess. Her nickname is "Lil Hoover" b/c she goes after anything disgusting outside. Now she won't eat much of anything we offer her. She's lethargic and not herself.

Finally, Id be remiss if i didn't mention that she probably has some mild separation anxiety and she hasn't seen her Mommy (my girlfriend) since last weekend and won't be seeing her for a few more weeks (working overseas). I think some form of depression may be at work here too but I'm just speculating about all of this, its driving me nuts Crying or Very sad

any thoughts?

when we first got our puppy my husband was home from work after back surgery..about 5 months later he went back to work and for afew days she got depressed...she wouldn't eat like she normally did and i would come home to find that she had thrown up alittle in her crate...that lasted for about a week...the vet checked her out and said she was fine and after about a week she started eating and acting like her old self

change is hard on them....right now we're redoing our kitchen and it's ripped up...sandy seems to be sad in a way....not her normal into everything self....

i hope it's something simple with your puppy and not serious

If you wait until Monday night before taking her to a vet that'll be 4 days without a meal, she's also lethargic, any vomiting or diarrhea? Is she drinking water still? I wouldnt wait until Monday night, if I was you I would take her to a vet today. maybe there is an emergency vet near you.

Good luck.

Thanks for your responses - Betty is doing well once again.

I think her between the allergies, the heat, and no mommy around she was just didn't have much energy.

Took her to the vet and everything checked out ok

thanks again! Your the best
