Hi,

I'm new here and have a new shih poo puppy named Paddington. He is 12 wks and is 4.5 lbs. Did anyone have a similar sized puppy at that age? How much does he or she weigh as an adult?

How much do the rest of your shih poos weigh? And how much were they when they were puppies?

My pup gained 1 lb in 1 and a half weeks!!! I'm afraid he's gonna be HUGE!!!

I don't think paddington will ever be huge, because I don't think he could weigh over 20 lbs.

My poodle was about 4 lbs at 13 weeks she is now 8 months and about 8 lbs. She may gain a tad but not alot. I would gauge it by the parents. He could end up a pound or two bigger than them. My guess would be about 9 or 10 lbs. Dogs tend to peak at a certain height then fill out gaining muscle from running and playing.

my shihpoo weighed about 3.5 lbs at 9 weeks (his first vet appt) and now tops the scales at a whoopin 16 lbs - which is actually bigger than most shihpoos. Most of the shihpoos that I know are around 10 lbs...

wow! 16 pounds! ...but anyway lol!

Lobo is around 7 months and he weighs about 8 pounds. He did grow very quickly. Paddington weighs about the same amount as when Lobo was that age. I think it's hard to guess how big he's going to turn out, but I'm sure he won't be giant or anything, so don't worry hehe Very Happy

btw he's so adorable!

my guy is 13 lbs at 1 year and 1 month old. he went to the vet this past wk and he's a "healthy" weight, but could stand to loose some weight they said, 11 lbs is more what he should be according to the vet. hope that helps. i think a lot of breeders say the dogs will be smaller than they will b'c that's the crazy, teeny tiny dogs. hope that helps Very Happy
