Hey everyone.. do any of you ever put your budgie cages outside in the sun? It is now in the 15-20 degree range so there was a beautiful breeze and I put my 2 cages out on the deck with me in the sun and breeze.. only for an hour so as to not overheat them.. and i twist tied the doors shut just to be sure.. are there any other issues about this? they seemed to enjoy it.. thanks

there is a house that I walk by every day when walking to school and there is this house that always has their birds on their front porch. They have 2 cockatiels, 2 parakeets and a parrot that sit out there so I think it would be fine as long as it is nice and they are not in direct sunlight. Being cold outside I would think will make them sick.

It is fine to put bird cages outside aslong as the birds are not in direct sunlight and you keep an eye on them, Make sure there is noway they can escape from the cage before putting them outside.

Sunlight is vitamin D to birds and they need this to help when they are molting and to keep there body metabolisim working correctly.

So yes its fine to put your birds outide they seem to love it and become more chatty when out doors due to hearing other birds and the fresh air does them the world of good.
