i currently have a 35 gallon tank with a stand built just for it, if i were to upgrade would i be able to use the same stand for a bigger tank.

Depends on the dimensions of the new tank. My guess would be no. -tl

the tank shoult not overhang anywhere on a stand. if it's longer or wider that the stand is then don't do it.

its just not worth risking having your whole tank fall over and break.. imagine the money let alone the mess involved.. especially with a tank bigger then 35 gallons thats a lot of water once its not in a tank haha...
