preparing replacement water for tank

Hello... I have read that when you change the water probably like 20% every week.. that the water your putting back in has to be the same tempurature..
How do you guys do this.. do you just let it sit until it gets to room temp or do you have an additional filter?? Also the addatives that you add like the fish slime stuff and the bacteria growth stuff.. do you add it to the new water before you put it in the tank or do you put the water in the tank and then add everything in... thanks a lot..

When I do water changes I have a large bucket that I put the water in. Then I add my dechlorinator and then add it to the tank.

With the temperature I usually try to get the tap water as close as I can to the temp. in the tank but it doesn't have to be exactly perfect.

When I refill my tanks, I just hook up a garden hose (used only on the aquariums) to my kitchen faucet. I use the sink sprayer first to get the temeprature right then just let the water go through the hose. My town uses well water so I don't have to worry about dechlorinator, but most people I know of that use a hose of some sort to refill their tanks either add their dechlorinator before refilling or add half before and half during.

I do water changes every week at about 15%-20%. I have a 30 gallon tank. I use a 5 gallon bucket which I add water directly from my utility sink. I take my thermometer out of my tank and use it to get the new water temp as close to 79-80 as possible. It gets easier with a little practice. I add my dechlorinator stuff immediately in the bucket and then add to the tank right away. Once complete, I add a little aquarium salt and some stress coat to the tank.

I use the same process as Bruce 1962 except I use Amquel and Novaqua to dechlorinate and buffer the PH.
