Just dropped Lucy off for her spay

I am so sad Sad

I am scared about the anesthesia. I ened up going with the cathader and fluids, because I want to take every precaution. I am also afraid she is going to be lonely and scared!!
She has to spend the night, so I won't see her until tomorrow eveing. She is going to be so lonely!!! She sleeps with us at night.
They are supposed to call me sometime this morning to let me know everything went OK.
Ohhhh I feel so bad for her Sad

Someone please tell me everything will be ok!

Everything will be fine! They will call you when she wakes up. Can you go and visit her tonight?

I don't know. I always wonder about that. Maybe it's better if you don't? She'll probably be sleepy anyway. I really think these things are harder for us than for the dog.

Just phone them or wait till they phone you, she probably wont be the only pet staying so she wont be lonely, just think of how happy you will both be when you pick her up in the morning.

Everything will be fine just think how happy she will be when she see's you.

One thing i do not understand is why they keeping her over night here in the uk providing nothing goes wrong the animal can come home the same day which makes recovery alot faster.
But i suppose different countries have different rules and opinions.

Again all will go well and i know how your feeling but then i sat and thought she will be so much happier not having to go through all her heat cycles the risks of cancers and tumours are dramatically reduced and in a whole are alot healthier.

Keep us posted of her progress and give her a Huge hug from all of us at Auspet.

Im from UK and I do remember that the vets would send most pets home the same day but most of the hospitals I worked at in California like to keep them overnight, theres usually someone there (at one hospital I lived in the adjoining apt) so they can be monitored, then again it depended on the hospital as there were a few vets that would send them home. Its illegal to leave pets in a hospital without anyone being on the premises. (in CA....I dont know about anywhere else).

Like Mike I've never known of them having to stay over night, but also like Mike, I know it's different ways of doing things the world over.

I really wouldn't worry. After anesthetic everyone/thing sleeps for a fair while. Even when they come round fully they just maybe get up to pee and then back to a comfy place for more sleep.
I'd stay away. Only because going to see her will upset you alot more than it does her. And just think, whilst you're nowhere in sight she isn't associating you with anything that she doesn't like very much. So, all the love and cuddles you give her when she gets home will over shadow her last few hours, guarenteed!
