Hi All:
I have not been on for a while now. You see, On January 17th 2005, I was scheduled for a "Routine" hysterectomy. To make a very long story short, it was everything but routine and I ended up needing emergency bowel surgery due to the fact that I apparently had a hernia and my bowel snuck thru a weak spot in my abdomen and obstructed itself. So, after a over two week stay and two surgerys, on Monday, home I came. I feel like all of the energy has been zapped away from me. Being a person who is always running on high energy its so not my style. Anyway, I wanted to commend my family for making sure that myself as well as all of my dogs are being cared for. Since I own 5 pitbulls/pitbull mixes and one yellow lab/golden as well as cats, its not easy. I am wondering if anyone else has needed a baby sitter if not for themselves, than to have someone come in and take care of their dogs/ animals?
Its so hard because I want to be out walking and working with them and here I sit even getting tired of typing as I write. Its a lot different after surgery. Thank God that the general surgeon saved my life!! PS
the hospital discharged me on a "General" diet one day after my hysterectomy, I felt good a few days later, asking my husband to take me to Chilli's to eat. Of course, I thought I was on the up and ordered fahita's & chips. Then things took a sour turn. I was later admitted to the hospital with a small bowel obstruction. Yippee. It has been so much fun.
Hey at least the dogs are doing great!!!

OMG, Sue that is a lot to go thru just make sure you take it easy to not end up on the hospital again, I am glad your and your pets are being taken care of.
I went thru something similar, though not as drastic, a few years ago, I had to have foot surgery, be totally non-weightbearing for a month and then on crutches for almost 3 months. My husband was my babysitter, being non weight bearing on crutches I couldnt do the simplest things, htings things we take for granted my poor dogs missed their romp and I missied mine, I did get depressed but then when I finally healed it was so much better
so please take it easy, things will get better

I'm so sorry you've been having so much trouble Sue! Hopefully you're well on the mend now. Glad your family is taking such good care of you and your pets! I'm sure your family(furred and non-furred) are anxious to have you up and around again... |
