Sarge'smom nice to meet you! Born in raised in Fort Wayne for almost 40 years moved down here about 10 years ago just to get a break from the big city, Only thing though I work on the North side of Fort Wayne so I drive about 50 miles a day round trip to and from work. Hope you are not getting flooded!
Jamiya what kind of dog is Nala? they do look quite a bit alike. Hope Nala isn't as stubborn as CW is.....lol

Nala is a shelter dog but we guess she is a border collie mix of some sort. Yes, she is as stubborn as CW, I guarantee it. Deaf as a doornail when she is doing something wrong and doesn't want to listen to you. I found this forum when she was a puppy because I was going insane. I cried for about 2 weeks after I got her - you know, the "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!??!" wailing. She is essentially my first dog, or at least the first inside dog that I have ever trained. What an eye opener!! Shocked

I have had dogs for many years German Shephard, Golden retrievers mix and a minitare poodle(who we had to lay to rest in 2003 due to congestive heart failure Crying or Very sad

) I have got to say that 'CW' is the first one to give me so many problems..From housebreaking to biting(mouthing)My vet thinks when I get him neutered(he will be 5 months old the 25th of February and my vet don't believe in neutering until then)that his little attitude aggression will settle down alot. He also does something that I have never had any dog do and that is when if Tramp and him get into a scuffle or he is mad at us for telling him no for something he will go into the kitchen and leave a big puddle under the table or will walk through the family room and leave little streams as he is walking almost like in his own way saying to us I'll show you! That and the constant mouthing makes you want to pull your hair out at times. Confused

.....lol. I have tried everything by the book but nothing is helping at this point. Tramp on the other hand is as mellow as the day is long and has never ever done his business in the house.Like a night and day difference between the two..lol.

Yes, we had the mouthing issues. Nala would actually jump up and hang onto our clothes and rip them as she swung around like a little monkey. She would also "herd" me into a corner and lunge and bite at me, and it scared me until I realized it wasn't aggression - it's a herding dog trying to get her own way! She also bit at my daughter's long hair. Spaying did not help one whit, but age and consistent training (even when it didn't seem to be working) did help.

When my dog was a puppy when we would go sledding she would chase me down and rip my scrunchies and my hair out and if i would put those little butterfly clips that had flappy wings in she would wait until i would sit down and rip THOSE out of my hair, usually after mashing them into my head. i found that a sock chain worked really well, if she wanted to play tug-a-war, she had to play it with the sock chain. it worked pretty well.

Took "CW" into the vet today for his next series of shots and he weighs 27 pounds at 15 weeks! When we took him 3 weeks ago he weighed almost 19pounds so he has gained 8 pounds in three weeks! Will have to get a second job to keep him in food......lol. The vet said he is one solid dog! They all love him there and took his picture and put it up on their waiting area bulletin board. He is such a 'ham' when it comes to get his picture taken.He was wimpering sitting on the exam table but as soon as they got the polaroid out he sat straight up and still..lol..

Wow, CW is going to be a big dog! Maybe around 90 pounds? A lab-sized Border Collie.....yikes!! Shocked

here is one of the pictures they took. Not the best quality but it shows how stout he is for 15 weeks. Vet is estimating probally around 75 pounds or so. To me he does not look very big because Tramp is over 100+ pounds so I don't really notice his size because I see him next to Tramp and he looks small..lol Wink

he looks ot have bernese mountain dog, even though he doesnt have the rust, his build looks just like one escept for not the long coat. I also think there is another breed similar the bernese that is more like CW

The neighbor we rescued CW from before they went to a shelter said her female is pregnant again. I told her from the experience of the first time to have her spayed because she will be back in heat within about 4 months of having the first litter and to have her spayed. Well she did not listen and now the same scernario is about to happen again. I am so mad I could scream. Chances are they will end up at the shelter too Crying or Very sad
