Are homemade dog treats healthier than store bought ones? I thought it made sense, but then someone told me that they are not any healthier. I have seen some recipies online and they have basic ingredients, including wheat flour, so I assumed they would be healthier. Also, do you think Cheerios are a healthy treat for a dog? Just one or two, not a whole bowl hahaha! Thanks |

I have given my dog Cherrios before as a treat, but just the original, not the frosted or the Honey Nut, but I assume that you already knew that. But I am not sure about the homemade treats vs. the store bought, but I would think that homemade would be better, however, not nearly as easy as reaching in a bag. |

| May sound crazy but our older dogs is overweight mainly due to too many treats (store bought) our vet recommended rice cakes (plain) he loves them, even my maltipoo loves them. |

I would think home-made treats as you know whats going into them & they can be made out of healthy ingredients but then again you can buy healthy treats from a shop. I'd say their both equal.
