I just read you reply to my post about litter box training. Where did you keep your puppy when you were not home? Did you crate train? Thanks for sharing your experience!

I was lucky when I first got Winnie I brought her to work with me, but for only 3 weeks. I had the chance to work part time (3days a week) and starting leaving Winnie home. I keep her in my kitchen. We also have a Keeshound and he has the run of the house. When I leave for work, I put her bed, toys, house (I have a soft house that zipps up instead of a crate that I leave open for her) food and water dishes and don't forget the litter box. I also put an extra puppy pad next to her litter box (she is very fussy about a clean box. The extra pad is just in case she needs it. She does great. She is at home 6 hours.

I did crate train to a point. When we brought Winnie home she was very sick, so she pretty much did what ever she wanted. Then I had to take back control. I started putting her in her house for naps and while we ate, if I had to run to the store or if we went to dinner. Anything longer than 2 hours she is closed in the kitchen. I never trained a puppy, my husband trained our Keeshound. So I read many books and even hired a personal dog trainer. The one piece of info that I found the most useful was that puppies need naps. I cover her house, only when she sleeps.

I hope I didn't get to off track and gave you the answears you were looking for.

Feel free to call on me again. I love talking about my WINNIE !!

We got her Surprised
We actually picked her up on Friday because our plans for Christmas were cancelled (we were flying to OH, all flights were cancelled because of the snow storm), so we got to get her early!!!! Her name is Lucy.
I cannot explain how cute she is and how much I love her already!!! We took her to the Vet today and she got shots. She is sleeping now...and she kinda yelps when you touch her on the shot side Crying or Very sad
She also has an ear infection that we are treating her for...poor girl!
She's a cream and apricot color. Her ears are apricot....soooo cute!
How can I post a picture here without paying???

She sounds just like my Winnie, my Winnie is also light apricot. She is the funniest puppy. Just tonight while my husband and I were checking emails, she ran into the office and just sat there and looked at us. That's when we relized she somehow found a package of red tap post-its and they were stuck all over her. We tried to get a picture but she wouldn't sit still because a post-it was on her forehead and it was driving her crazy.

I wish I knew how to post a picture to tell you, I believe you need to pay!! then we could compare pictures. I bet they look alike. If you figure it out let me know. Oh by the way my Winnie also came home with an ear infection, nothing to worry about just give her the drops and she will be fine. HAVE FUN!!!!

LOL Laughing
I bet she was so cute!!!! I am still trying to figure out how to do the picture thing. If you have a picture on a website, like shutterfly.com, yahoo, etc, then you can post it here. It just has to be small enough, which is what I am having a problem figuring out. If you go to your profile, you can add the link to the picture under the field named:Link to off-site Avatar
I will let you know when I figure it out.

Try www.photobucket.com Its very easy there. Or send your pictures to me and I will post them for you. I explained it to another poster recently and she got it. I'll look for that post.
I can have it up in a matter of minutes.

I have my pictures on shutterfly.com and I don't have my camera or the picture file here at work, so I don't think I can move the pictures to another program Sad
I can get it on here, but it's soooooo big!

At photobucket, click edti and then click on the 25%. Highlight, copy, come here and paste. That is the way I do it.
