I'm about to get another puppy, we already have a beautiful female Maltese Silky terrier x. I'm not sure though if I should get a male or female. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Usually adding to the mix a male would not cause any issues. If you feel you know your female well and she would handle another female then it would be ok. If she does not do well with other females go with a male. Also if your female is dominate or alpha make sure whichever sex you get ,get a more submissive dog so's they will not fight. Good luck.

When we got Molly I was a bit worried about introducing her to our female lab, 8 years old. She has been known to be territorial.
I introduced them very slowly. First they could only sniff each other through a fence. Our lab (Poco) would growl at her.
I started taking them for walks together..all the time keeping Molly far enough from Poco, and started out with a muzzle on Poco..
It's been 3 1/2 months now, and they do fine together. Molly crawls all over Poco,,,,they have a great time on their walks...sniffing things together, and then peeing on them..lol.

Whatever you do, take your time in getting them used to each other. Eventually your other dog will see the new dog as a new member of the pack.
