I would like to know if it is ok to clamp a stallion to geld him. if not could you explain why?

I don't advise it at all. WHy would you want to do that? For one. its not relyable. Two, hormones will still be produced and he'll still act like a stallion, 3 he will still be a stallion and can easily breed. ITs a technique that I though was no longer used....

we have three stallions and every vet either doesn't do it or doesn't do it any more or will not come out this far and do it incase of an emergency.
I was told by the state vet that it is ok to do it but it seems if it was more people would be doing it. i'm just trying to find a salution to the space issue at the farm we have three stallions dad and two sons mom and a gelding who is the new one and we want to keep them all together in the feild but ofcourse we can't. just so u understand i only own 2 of these stallions (the sons) that i bought this summer and i've been trying to get them gelded for a while now. I've had to spend alot of time taming the 2 yr old he was never handled. the three yr old is a big sweetheart. hope that clears it up for u i haven't done anything it was just a question i was asking
