I have a shih tzu mix. He is supposedly a shih poo but I don't see any poodle in him--what do you think?
here is his dogster account

Kristine,
Welcome to the boards!!!
I agree.... your baby (very adorable) is not a shihpoo in my opinion. I've seen lots and lots ..... and I agree, I dont' see the "poodle." He looks a little like a cross with a pug, perhaps?? gosh... I dunno..... but he definitely looks like a breed I've seen before! I've also never ever seen a shihpoo with that coloring. The color is just beautiful -- He's also got a grrrrrreat face!! I have a shihpoo, Bailey, and he's a monster too.... He weighs around 13 lbs and is 11 months. Here is his dogster site: http://www.dogster.com/dog_page.php?i=17761 |

| I have two peek-a-poos - Gucci is 8 yr. old and weights in at a "full figured" 8 1/2 lbs. Chanel is 3 yrs old and is 4lbs. 12oz. I can't reiterate enough on how much I love looking at all the pictures of your fur babies. I have them plastered all over my refridgerator. Everyone that comes in my house has a comment on my sanity. You can see pictures of my girls at http://www.msnusers.com/Peek-A-Poophotos/ |

| Kristine: What a cutie Oscar is. Could he be part Pekingese? He has those georgous eyes. His roommate is a handsome fellow too. |

Thank you all for your compliments on Oscar
MonsterBailey--its funny that you suggested a pug father as the woman I got him from has a pug--I'm thinking that she made a mistake in thinking that the poodle was the father--especially with oscars short hair. I have looked at a lot of shih poos and poodle mixes--and have not seen one that remotely looks like oscar!
Peekapoopal--Several people including a peke breeder said that Oscar looks pekingnese--I guess Ill just never know. Unless the woman I got him from just totally lied to me--I know that his mother is a shih tzu--I'm thinking that maybe a shih tzu/pug cross looks like a peke--given they all have common ancestry.
I love his little face--and the short hair is actually nice as I don't have to take him to the groomer! |

kristin i took one look at that photo and immediately thought aw what a cute peke mix. so my guess would be a peke tzu or a shih peke (?) |
