Okay, how terrible is this of me? After deciding that we would take the little Shih-Poo yesterday, we got a phone call this morning from another breeder. I was on a waiting list for a white Teddy Bear Schnoodle (toy/mini), but it seemed it would be a 4-9 month wait. (I found this breeder online a couple of months ago. They're in Alabama.) But today I got the call that the puppy was born last night and it was mine if I still wanted it. Oh my gosh! This was my little dream puppy! I actually cried.

Now I'm not sure what to do w/the Shih-Poo, but we definitely have taken the Teddy Bear Schnoodle. I couldn't believe it when she called me this morning--not the Schnoodle, the breeder. LOL

I had a toy/mini Schnoodle as a kid and loved it! And if this one is half as adorable as the pic I saw of the other one born to this breeder, I will be in dog heaven. I know they have such an adorable personality. This one is expected to be about 10-12 lbs.

I gave up on the idea that I would get to have one of these puppies, esp. b/c we didn't want to wait the possible 9 months.

Hmm, I don't think we can start out w/2 puppies. I have to ease into this w/my allergy situation. I want to make sure I can handle one, before I go on to two. So, I don't know what we'll do about the Shih-Poo.

I'll try to get a pic of it (or the other white puppy from their site) and bring it to you. You'll see why it's my "dream puppy". And the breeder seems wonderful!

Gosh, life is strange sometimes.

Congrats on finding your "dream" puppy! I believe I know the breeder you are talking about.. just because early in my search for the perfect puppy for us, I was looking at Schnoodles and I wanted the "teddy bear" Schnoodle.. there was only one I found online and she was in Alabama. I'll PM you her web site, to see if I am talking about the same one!

Hmmm.. about the Shih-poo... I'm not sure what to say. Have you contacted them yet (I'll refrain from saying the name on the boards..)? As far as multiple puppies, I did it! LOL! Best thing I ever could have done (and I am a first time puppy owner, never had a dog in all my life)!! However, I do understand, given your allergies, that you'd want to make sure you can handle it Your the best Smart thinking!

Keep us posted and I'm very happy for you (again)! LOL! Laughing

Why do they call them teddy bear schnoodles. Do they leave the face unclipped. White will be pretty.

I agree with 4dogs, get them both!!! Your the best

Since the puppy was just born last night, it'll be a while before you can actually bring him home. Therefore, during that time in which you'll be waiting to bring home the Schnoodle, you can spend some extra one-on-one time with your current puppy with training and such! Wink

I'm curious to know what you decide!!! Very Happy

Thanks for the continued support. I guess they call them Teddy Bear Schnoodles b/c they spent alot of time making their faces more round than long, and the hair is usually not clipped on a Schnoodle, although it can be. It really does look like a little Teddy Bear (almost). They are absolutely adorable. I'll work on getting that pic to you tonight. I'm not sure if I know how. Check back a little later.

The easy answer would be to get both puppies. But my husband, the one with the wisdom, says it would be best to go with one. We've not been able to have a dog for many years due to my allergies. And I seem to being doing so well now. But we may be pushing it by getting a dog. So getting two dogs may really put me over the edge. Maybe not, but it's not worth the chance of losing both dogs again in the long run.

Unfortunately, I think I'll only be able to go with the white puppy. Not to mention that we paid alot for the previous puppy (the one that was killed) and now another one. If we were to go for a third we will have spent about $2000 in one month (or so). Not that they're not worth it.

I really do feel bad about the Shih-poo, but we have to go for the one that we wanted all along. In fact, this white Schnoodle is the one I looked at even before we got the original puppy (while I was awaiting him to come live with us). I got to thinking maybe we can have both puppies at that time. Anyway... somehow it worked out. I just wish I'd known this 12 hrs. sooner, before I put a deposit on the Shih-poo.

Well, thanks everyone. I appreciate the support.

Okay, I don't know if I can give the web address that my dog (or at least the relative of my dog, and should look just like him). Is that allowed?

If not, PM me and I'll send you the address.

Thanks.

Okay, the only way I knew to do this (for now, anyway) was to put the address of where you can find my new white toy/mini Schnoodle on my profile under website.

I hope that works.

This is a relative of my actual puppy, so mine should look very much like this one.

He's absolutely adorable! You'll see why I fell in love!

Thanks for the interest.

but I can "hear" it in your "voice" that you are overjoyed and beside yourself, so CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU on that!!! Smile

Please PM me... I'd love to get details!!

d'oh! OHHHHH, I totally forgot that you hadn't actually brought the puppy home yet, you just put down the deposit! Embarassed See, I was thinking that you already had the puppy/shih-poo (at your home), and you wanted to return the shih-poo and get the schnoodle instead. Shocked I was a little (okay, really) shocked that you would consider doing that (returning the puppy to the breeder), but after re-reading your post, I stand corrected (and very relieved)! Wink

If you truly want the schnoodle, and you only want to bring in one dog for now, just go with the schnoodle! Your the best I totally understand why you have fallen head over heels for the schnoodle, he is just too cute!!!!!!! Surprised

My best advice to you, go with your heart on this one! Very Happy

Oh my goodness! Yes, that truly would be awful. (And I have the feeling there were others that were thinking like you--sorry for the confusion) But no, I did NOT bring the Shih-poo home yet. In fact he wasn't going to be ready for another month. But anyway, I felt bad enough. But there's a waiting list and I'm sure that little guy already has a home. So I didn't feel TOO badly. Also, she had not even gotten a pic to us yet--we were going sight unseen. But I wish I could have taken both. Oh well.

I had contacted the Schnoodle breeder a while back, and didn't think we'd hear so quickly. She called about 12 hrs. after we put down the deposit on the Shih-poo. So, since the Schnoodle was the one we really wanted (and we were even wanting to get him after we got our other puppy), then we decided to just go with the schnoodle.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, we fell in love! And we can't wait.

I saw it, it might have been taken off because of the assumption it was a breeder trying to sell, even though Blessed is not a breeder, it was a breeders site with their pup. Thats what I think.
I know I saw one of what Blessed called a teddy bear schnoodle. He looked somewhat like a pom in the face, just the roundness of the fur on its face.

Aww, thanks. I will PM you. But for anyone who wants to see our new future Schnoodle (well, this is a relative of ours--ours is to look just like this one, I'm told. It's also white), please go to my profile and go to the "website". You'll see our little "Riley".... unless they decide to give us a girl (which is fine), then we may change the name.

Thanks for asking.

Be ready. He's the most adorable thing! We're all in love!

And thanks everyone for the encouragement and sharing with me. All of your dogs are adorable as well. I'm enjoying all these pics. Very Happy
