I'm looking at this pit puppy in my area. The pup is registered with APBR and ARA. I'm not too familiar with either registries. I'm totally aware of ADBA and UKC, but not the two I mentioned. Any help please?

I'd keep looking and find a different breeder. That does have ADBA or UKC, but make sure its more then just that. Registry means a lot but its not everything. The ARA I've never heard of. The APBR is a registry that not just allows bybs to happen it promotes it and promotes the use of animals and papers to scam people out of money. All you have to do is take a Pit Bull, Pit mix or a bulldog looking kind of dog and register it with them, you're basically buying a set of papers and can now sell your pups as registered purebreds with the unaware general public. I'm glad you asked the question as most people dont do any research or try to find anything out. CKC is another one and I have a friend who got screwed by a CKC breeder, I can't say its not her own fault for not looking into what she was buying and researching but most people don't and its the breeders who talk big and lie about their dogs.

well, in the time i posted this thread, i found the site for APBR. it does seem iffy and quite easy to register your dog. i think i'll pass and find something else. thanks for your help.
