I'm sure someone has paosted this question before but I can't find it.Can fish interbreed?
Like a molly with a platty?
I'm just curious because my molly is getting really fat and I had noticed that the platty was harrassing her for quite sometime.IS it even possible?

Some species can and some can't. It mainly depends on their genetics. I've never heard of mollies & platties being able to interbreed.

The owner at the LFS said that mollies and swords will interbreed. I have a female sword that was in with a male molly and she definatly looks pregnant. He said that they make pretty fry. He also told me that mollys and guppies will interbreed but I have had a female molly in with DD's guppies and nothing yet.

I stand corrected.

At the bottom of the page, there's a couple platy/sword hybrids. So if both platies & mollies can breed with swordtails, then it may be possible for them to breed with eachother.

t_chelle16, you were right the first time. Mollies and Swords will not interbreed. Platys and Swords will. Platys and Swords are in the same family.
