|

| A new fish store opened up around here this spring and he will buy from local people. We got 20.00 for 21 guppies-about 3 months old. Is this pretty good? He said he would give me about 50 cents for my baby mollies if they were half grown. They are the marble variety. Is that any good? I was hoping for more on the mollies, but that is about my only option. BTW, this is in rural Arkansas so they may or may not be as high as other parts of the country. Also, the majority of the guppies were the "tuxedo" variety which he said were pretty common. |

FWIW, I only get $1 each plus occasional discounts for my african cichlid fry and they retail for a lot more than guppies & mollies. So $20 for 21 guppies is pretty good. And considering most places won't even take live bearers off your hands for free, you should be happy with anything you can get.

I got pretty excited when I heard you got $20 for 21 guppy fry! That's great! I want to get into breeding in the future but I didn't think it would be that profitable. You know the saying "Location, location, location!" I was going to do it in Florida but it's hard to sell fish like that in the area I was (S.W.FL) |

| i live in florida and the fish here are very hard to sell because we have large pop. of fish all over. Mollies and Platies are actually very popular here and usually you have to donate them for free. usually they can get about 10 mollies and of platies for 10c so thats not much (1c a fish) |

| I guess we did well, then! Actually I am between fish stores. I'm about 30 minutes away from each one and they both will buy fish so I guess I'm luckier than I thought! |

i havent tried to sell my fry yet, (guppy and molly) as they are tooo tidgy, but i heard that in the USA, they like you to donate as they consider it a gesture of good will.
i was told i could get a bit of £ on my guppy fry, or credits for food etc.
not alot tho i dont think. |

| The LFS said that he liked doing in store credits. He has a lady that has supplied him with enough baby angel fish that she has gotten a 55 gallon aquarium and cabinet. |

I have one store that will give me cash for my africans, but I generally end up spending it there any way. Last time I ended up dropping off 10 africans and taking home 5 dwarf cory cats (I'd been looking everywhere from some and she just happened to get them in the day before).
The other store gives me credit and generally end up getting pond suppies there.
