I'm really sorry if this appears to be a stupid question but someone bought me a fish but they have no idea what type of fish they bought and I don't know how to care for it. We tried looking for the receipt or something to find out its name but couldn't find it. Well anywayz unfortunately I don't have a scanner or a webcam to take a picture of the fish, but its a long and skinny fish that looks very much like an eel or a snake. It's sort of scaly and slithery, and it is about 6-8 inches. It also has these weird things sticking out from its nose. If you have a link or picture of this fish I'm talking about it would really help. Thank you!

Sorry, no that's not it. Mine is much thinner. It's very slender, and the best thing that resembles its body shape is a snake or an eel, also mine has these tiny nob things sticking out of its nose. But thank you very much for taking the time to reply!
