| Indoor pond? Put gold fish in it, they are bright enough to be seen. |

If it's indoors, then yes, you could probably do it. I would, however, be a little worried about the fish jumping out if you don't have a cover on it.
One of the reasons people use goldfish for ponds (other than them being coldwater fish) is because of their fairly wide bodies and bright colors. That makes them really easy to see from above and against a dark background. If you'll notice, most fish are darker on top and have lighter bellies. That's a form of camouflage that was developed specifically to make them difficult to see from above and below.

I don't know much about ponds, but if it's going to be indoors (which sounds awesome to me!!!) then it should be warm right? What about some blood parott cichlids? They are bright like gold fish and have wide bodies so they should be more visible from above than regular shaped thin cichlids. The non-dyed jellybeans are bright too and wide bodied. Just a thought for you. Then you could have your cichlids and be able to see them well too. Of course make sure there is a lid like Chelle said, I just had a jumper last week! |
