Congradulations! I love to get surprises like that! The four you found must be strong to have made it through a water change. I would try to sepatate them from the other fish if you want to try and raise them. A hospital tank is good, but I don't have one, so I use the floating breeder trap. They are fun to find and net when they are that small! Best of luck! Oh, yeah, when I had guppies I could usually tell when they were pregnant, but every so often they do surprise us. Surprised

Congrats. I just noticed a guppy fry swimming around in my 10 gallon. And I think one of my emerald cats may have laid eggs so I need to pull out some decorations and look. When I do that I'll probably find some more guppies.

Well I ended up not finding anything; not even more baby guppies. Oh well, it's probably for the best anyway. I already have 41 african cichlid fry in my 20 gallon and another one is holding. So in a few weeks I'm going to have to thin my fry out to about 24 (12 of each species).

i was amazed to find four fry when i was glaring in my guppy tank one day last week.

Unfortunatly i only have 2 left and theyre in a breeding trap in another tank.

all five of my females are very pregnant and want to stay that way!

They wont give me any more babies!

Hehe,

well, i have a guppy farm. a tank just for them. When that is full, ill put some in my bigger tank where they originally came from.

my boyfreind wants some fry, and i spose i could then porn then off to family, and sell them in the friday add, and if all else fails, ill ask them to use contraception when they feel rambunctious!

I'm just finishing up a 750 gallon pond and I put my 3 adult guppies & 1 fry I found in there on Monday because I really needed to get them out of my 10 gallon. I went out yesterday morning to feed them and there were at least a dozen little baby guppies swimming around. Looks like I got them out of the 10 gallon just in time.

750 Gallon tank? That's awesome, got any pics? Did you make the pond? Are you putting Koi in it?

It's not quite finished yet but when it is done I'll post some pics. And yes my mom & I dug it ourselves. It's about 8' x 6' and has a section that's 4' deep; the rest is 1' - 2' deep. It will also have a 2' waterfall. It has the guppies, some rosey minnows, 2 shubunkin goldfish, 1 fantail (gonna add another one as soon as his tail finishes healing), and 2 plecos*.
I didn't really want koi because I'd rather have several smaller fish than 1 or 2 really huge ones.

*A little note about the plecos: Normally plecos aren't good fish for ponds since they're tropical. But 2 of mine have a disease called lymphocystis. It's not deadly, but it's a bit unsighlty and is contageous. Goldfish aren't as susceptible but cichlids are so I really don't want to keep them in my cichlid tanks (the only ones large enough to house them). And I seriously doubt any LFS will take them. So that left me with the choice of either euthenizing them or letting them take their chances in the pond.

I have a sump pump (1380 gph) in a rubermaid container with holes in the lid, and the pump is surrounded by filter media. Then a hose goes from the pump to the top of the waterfall so I'll get a little biofiltration there too. I plan on keeping it fairly lightly stocked and having lots of plants so I sholdn't have too much trouble with water quality.

It's been raining for 2 days and it's supposed rain tomorrow too. So far the water level has gone up a little, but not enough to overflow.
