We just got a little baby pit bull pup. He is so adorable right now. I was thinking about putting him in obedience school. I've always heard all these horror stories about them chewing up everything that you own.. So do ya'll think it's a good idea or are all the rumors true???? Thanks in advance for your answers... |

I think the obedience is a good idea.
It depends on the dog, yes they can be very destructive so yes it is true but not all are the same.
Maybe this will help answer
blanket
tree
K9 Kondo "indestructible chew proof" dog house
stainless steel bowls
Super Tuff Rhino "Pit Bull tested" and guaranteed
Kong
just a wood dog house, it is now 1 side missing 3 walls, part of the back wall is chewed that you can see in the bottom right. The bottom left pic just shows how the roof is leaned forward since it doesn't have the 3 sides for support
large wire crate, didn't drag it out to get pics but here is one of the missing wire bars, they popped the welds
is is a medium sized wire crate, same deal
chewed out the side
this is just a few things for an example
there are countless other items mine have chewed up shoes, slippers, leads, collars, tires, other dog houses, other bowls, lots of other toys, kids toys, crayons, bed headboard, other blankets, dog beds, corner and one door of the outbuilding, one corner of the house I caught her right when she did it so its not too bad, other misc items. One chewed up pics of my friends Pit, maybe she was just jealous.
My friend told me one chewed up shoes, PSP, remotes/controllers I think too and some other stuff (I think a VCR?) all in one night.
One of my moms chewed up kids toys also and the cord off the vacuum. |
