Anyone else have a special needs pit?

I have a 11 year old female named Naomi who is a three legged wonder. She not our only handicapped dog but she is our only pitbull. She is also our oldest dog and boss as we like to put it. She's a beautiful red pit just alittle limb challenged. She still runs and jumps and wrestles with the best of them lol. I will get some pics of her up in the next couple weeks. Anyone else have a special needs pit?

The kids found Cocoa when she was about 6 months old in the gutter hungry & wet, and kept her in thier closet for a day afraid we wouldn't let them keep her. We made the kids find the owner and taker her back.

About a week later she was in the gutter again, this time in much worse shape. Took her to the vet. He said she had been probably been run over or abused because her pelvis had been broken, she had also drank some antifreeze. She wasn't expected to live, but the kids nursed her back to health, and we determined she needed a real home.

About a month later, a policeman came claiming we had stolen her. I told him the story, showed him the vet bills, he scratched her behind the ears and left, and she has lived with us for 11 years.

She still can't see very well due to the antifreeze poison - sometimes running into walls. She has trouble getting up stairs, but we don't have to worry about her getting up on sofas or beds. The mailman calls her "crazy legs" because of her odd gait. She is happy, and often "dances" in the back yard - kind of looks up in the sky and barks and spins - we're sure it's a happy thing.

I have some that require extra attention sometimes due to injury or something like that. But that is short time.

Others that need a lot of training, and some that need a lot of excercise.

I guess when our female had cancer and was looking at amputation she was special needs since it was for long term.
