Sorry to hear about that Sam!!! My Buster has Addison's Disease he has had it for 2+ years he is 7 years old. what would you like to know just the basic's?
Addison's is treatable but is an absolute lifelong treatment. He gets prednisone every morning and he is up to 56 days between DOCP (hormone injections) the vet has not had a dog that can go so long between injections. As long as you give them the meds and just monitor their stress levels they live a happy long normal life.
some websites are addisondogs.com that is a good one.
And my Cat Patches has Kidney Disease and she is 11 years old and doing well. |

Well his blood counts were all around the charts.. he's anemic and lost alot of weight. Has blood in the urine and alot of sediment.
They put him on a high dose of ciprofloaxin and we'll do xrays next week to check for any abnormalities or cancer...
UGh. he jsut spirled down so fast. He hasn't been himself but today was just a bad bad day and i guess now i know why.
He drinks sooo much water. Dr said to let him have all he can drink. and to keep him cool and calm for a while. |

that's how it was with Buster he wasn't acting himself and wasn't eating and had the runs, drank tons of water, lethargic, and he would shake. This went on for only a day or so and it got soo bad that I took him to animal ER (yes the one on TV) and he was admitted. He spent 3 days in the ICU they thought that he was in acute kidney failure and thought that the best thing to do would to put him down. the day prior to doing the thing I didn't want to do they said that they wanted to do one more blood test. they called later that afternoon and told me that he would be fine he has Addison's and he is already responding to the test dose.
hang in there. Have they tested for Addison's or do they think that it is kidney disease? Addison's mimics kidney failure |

| We're seeing if the meds work first. If not.. then we'll know. He's had several blood tests done, chem 12, cvc and we did urinalisis and sediment and we'll see what xrays show on Tuesday. |

Thanks, I appreciate it.
He seems to be a bit better this morning. I think the antibiotics are helping! Hes still drinking a ton of water.
I'm taking him to a reiki session tomorow.... a friend of mine does the energy therapy and i relaly think it can help. |

He's doing ok.. not any worse, but not a whole lot better. He's got a little more energy and the meds make his tummy upset. He wants to stay outside wich isn't like him. He loves being in the house, but then again, he's a boy, what can i say.
His appetite has decreased a little, but i'm thinking its more from the upset stomache from the meds. |
