I finaly got to have Freckles DNA tested through the Mars Wisdom Panel labratory. My Vet took a blood sample and submitted it for testing.
The results: (Drum Roll Please)
Freckles is a mix of English Springer Spaniel, Tibetan Spaniel, and Chow with a trace of English Cocker Spaniel. None of the first three represented a direct parent.
I registered Freckles on the Mars site and his photo is currently on page 1 of the gallery:

You can see a page I created of his test results here:

FYI, The cost of this test varies but I paid $130. Worth it to me to finally know what makes up a Freckle Dog. Very Happy

I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Since they've shown they can't be too reliable. One kept coming back with just about every dog being beagle. (i think they've cleared that up now?). Another kept showing the same/similar combinations for a number of dogs and a surprising # that were rare breeds.

Then there is this one, a pure bred CH AST = primarily Border Collie, then Boston Terrier and then Bulldog.

I guess if the $ satisfies people to "know" what breeds their dogs are the companies will keep taking the bucks.

I plan to send in a few of my dogs once I get the money up just for a few laughs. I plan to find which is the most reliable though to a small degree by sending in known mixed breeds to a few labs to see which come back most accurate.

neither of the breeds came up in the test...
I'm not holding them anywhere near accurate....
