Well, for the first 2 days after we had brought him home he had been doing great....eating everything in sight and taking his medicine without any problems.

Then all of a sudden, yesterday, he quit eating all together and would bearly drink any water... so we called the vet immediately and they said we could try the same thing that we had before and see if he responds any differently.

I honestly did'nt want to put him through that again and he just kept staring at me as if he was trying to tell me.

So, after giving Itty the best chance that I possibly could, today we had to have him put to sleep.

It was honest to god one of the hardest things that I've ever had to do.

It's going to be extremely hard not having him around anymore, because I grew up with him and it feels like I've lost one of my best friends, but I know it was the best thing for him.

I saved his life when I was 9 yrs old and he was just a new born kitten, and he had a great life for the 13 yrs that he was with us, but now I know that he's in a better place and is'nt suffering any longer.

Thank you guys so much for your help and advice.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your kitty. Crying or Very sad

I agree, he is in a happier place now. I felt the same when we had to put down our kitty, Smokey, due to illness.

So sorry for your loss. You must be feeling so sad right now. I've lost cats too and it's not an easy thing to go through. Take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering. He sure was a beautiful cat. Hang in there. Crying or Very sad

loosing a part of the family is never easy, Their unconditional love is amazing!! The way they come to you when you get home, the way they look at you even if you have punished them for something as if "ok now that that's out of the way love me...I love you...." Time does make a difference in the healing but the hurt really never goes away. Knowing that you made Itty's life enjoyable and happy is important to remember. He will always be with you just remember the good times with him.

Hang in there!!
