Hi all, I'm new here so please be patient with me. We just adopted an Australian Shepherd pup (about 15 weeks old) today and he seems so nervous and scared. Is this normal? He's alert, just very quiet and scared.
I'm not new to owning dogs (I've had them all my life) I'm just new to ones so young.....
Thank you!
Mom of 3 (and now 4 counting our little Aussie, Brian) |

| Was this puppy from a breeder or shelter? |

| allow sometime for the pup to familiarize itself. No more than a child being moved into a new home, it is going to be frightened and offish until it gets use to the new home and surroundings. This is normal very often especially with adopted pets. |

thanks for the thoughts. brian is doing so much better (now that he's been here a handful of days). although he is quite submissive in nature, he's opening up and having a good time with my children - and has started to really bond with all of us. we're off to a good start!
