Booger was spayed when she was 9weeks old (before her first cycle). She's 3.5 years old now.
The past few days, she's exhibiting signs of being in heat...she's suddenly door darting (she's an indoor girl), scratching and crying at the door and this morning I've noticed a faint scent of cat-spray. Anyone familiar with cats immediately knows that oder when they smell it. But it's barely there and I only smell it briefly.
Is it possible for a spayed cat to experience heat?
One site I found stated that spaying "reduces" the chance of a cat spraying and others say it eliminates spraying. |

| Moe was spayed when she was 2 years old, after she went through a cycle with me as her owner. She still goes into some sort of heat every few months. She sents a lot and is really affectionate. I've heard that sometimes if an older cat is spayed they don't "get it all out". Not sure about Booger though, since she was so young. |

Yeah, she's been overly affectionate lately too! She even slept on my lap the other day for over an hour and she's never been a lap cat.
I'm fairly certain she's in heat. |

This is definitely possible. I volunteer with a rescue, and we've had a dozen instances, including my own cat, of an incomplete spay. They have to go back in an get whatever has grown back.
I have also watched several spays, and I can see how they could maybe not get the entire ovary. |

| Poor Booger. I was thinking along the lines of her having her ovaries intact. Do you plan to have her re-spayed? |
