Help! Dogs attack door when someone comes over

I am in need of help! I have two dogs an 18 month old GSD and a 20 month old Miniature Schnauzer. Whenever the door bell rings or someone is at the door they both loose their minds and barely let me open the door. They both want to rush out to whoever it is. My GSD jumps on people and I am afraid if he hurts someone. My schnauzer of course doesnt stop barking at the poor person. If it is a delivery I have to just open the door a little or they will both get out to overly excitedly greet the poor person. They both know how to sit and stay but when that door bell rings they forget everything! Any advise would be great!!!!

i would suggest praising them when they don't react to the doorbell. Ring it all the time. If they react. Distract them and praise them when they're quiet.

If not, you could always put them in a back room or in a crate when the doorbell rings, or if you know when someone is coming over..

What you want to do is have someone practice with you.
Begin by getting the dog/dogs to focus on you ie. watch me.
High praise.
Then add the doorbell distraction.
When they focus on you ie. watch me. HIGH PRAISE
