moving and do not want to take fleas

Just wondering if anyone could help me. Recently found out that my dog has fleas and for the last couple days I have been vacuuming the floors with borax and washing my dog with dish soap. It seems to be slowly working, but in a week I am moving in with friends and do not want to take the fleas with me. If anyone can give me some advice on a sure way to not take the fleas along with the dog and myself and furniture please let me know.

I'm not sure about the furniture, other than vacuuming it well. But the dogs are easy, treat them with frontline.

Front-line or advantage, works a treat, and I would flea BOMB everything..
Dogs should be treated every month for fleas, they cause all sorts of skin problems. Not to mention other stuff.

Guess I should have specified that I do not want to put any chemicals on my dog. She is small and has had allergic reactions to many things so I don't want to risk anything. I was thinking of taking her to a doggie wash bay when I am moving but other than that I don't really know.

If its not a "BAD" flea problem, you can do a one time flea treatment before you leave with CapStar, just give her a good flea bath and then give her the capstar pill. it will start working within 30 minutes and just as soon as the fleas bite her, they will die and fall off. I've had good luck with it and I have a dog with allergies, and its been safe to use so far.

There are natural remedies out there. Brewer's Yeast

The magic remedy here is garlic! That's right. Just mash up a clove or 3 and soak in vegetable olive oil for a day. Then part the fur on the back of neck and drip several drops on doggies skin. In one hour all fleas are gone. Do this weekly and keep them off all of fleas season! This will also keep all bugs and insects of doggie. Even mosquitos. Ask any Itallian!
