trouble with burmese brat!!

I have a seven foot brown burmese python and of course I also have trouble. I love the look of the crushed walnut shell bedding I use but it molds whenever she drips her water on it. Is this mold normal? will it harm her? other than pine what other bedding options do i have? And it seems like I cant get rid of those darn mites. shes had them twice and each time i emptied the cage, bleached everything out bathed her and put the medicine on her. why do the come back. i don't store bedding or her food. Do you think it comes from the rats I give her?
