but we've had quite a week!!
A nor'easter hit us hard in the wee hours of Monday morning.
3am our electricity went out and we just got it back last night (Wednesday). Still no phone but I can live w/out that. No internet access at home due to having Verizon DSL. I'm online at work.
We stayed home cause whose going to let someone with 4 cats, 1 large dog, and 2 foster cats come stay at their house. Kept the woodstove going. My son's friend let us use a generator one night so we had a light and could watch TV.
We left town for showers and cooked on the gas grill.
Could have been much worse if we didn't have the woodstove.
My cats all sat around and looked at us in the evenings "hey fool....pay the darn electric bill - we are cold"
We have had crews from Michigan, Indiana, Connecticut, Mass., and Alabama here helping to restore power. Great group of people and I thanked them whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Our road is a dead-end street and Monday morning we had 40 trees laying across the end of the road so we were pretty isolated. My son and I climbed over/around/under trees and downed lines (the entire grid had been shut down) to get out to see what was going on in the world beyond us. Wasn't pretty.
Here are some pictures. But the pets are fine and handled it much better then we did!!!! I'm just so THANKFUL no one got hurt, our house is fine. I can't imagine what we would have done if anyone had been injured as we couldn't get out and no one could get in.

during cleanup

after cleanup, next morning. And it still looks like this

Glad to hear everyone is okay. What a mess, but looks like the clean-up teams did a good job!
