I really feel for Jess, She would have been due anytime from saturday, All lastnight and this morning she has been digging at her blankets, Just to think she will probably go through the labour to have nothing for it at the end. Her mammary glands have trippled in size since going to te vets they hanging really low.
Told mum she needs to take her to see her own vet and get some stuff to dry up her milk...
I am hoping vet missed a pup due to the fact her bladder was so full and he did not ask me to take her out to empty it he was not a very good vet in my opinion as i had to ask him to check to make sure she had not temp. I know its doubtfull there is even one in there..
Life can be so cruel sometimes..
Sorry just had to rant a little

Wouldn't it be normal for her to be off feed if she had ingested the aborted pups?
I believe I read somewhere it throws off the hormone levels. |

Thats true but she lost the litter before the 6week mark when there bones would have started to calcify, she would have been due this saturday or sunday...
But will let her get on with it if there is any in there and the vet missed them since he seemed to be rubbish at doing the scan, Then great if not then it can not be helped its just one of those things as they say...
She has acually had something to eat so maybe she was just feeling a little sickly this morning and did not fancy any food..

Well Jess is going home tomorrow and mum planning on taking her to se her own vet for an x-ray as i was playing with jess today and i felt to very large lumps in her stomach and now her milk is expressing so no idea whats going on. Alot of people i have spoke to including a sheep scanner said that will a full bladder on a cat or dog it makes it harder to see if anything there and they can be missed especially if there is only a singleton...
She has eaten loads today don't know whats wrong with her she never eats like this haha.
Will keep you updated on the x-ray

Thats good to hear.
Well, Three of the puppies have gone to their new homes. Anther is leaving at the show tomorow. And tuesday 16 of them are gone. That leaves me with my three and Precious' 6, and then two girls and a couple boys....
I'm gonna be lost without all my "kiddos" |

Well Jess is back home, Her mammaries are going back to normal and is happy and content.
The vet said if she wants to go ahead and spay her then it can be done at the end of may that will give her body plenty of time to go back to normal otherwise she would be back in heat again in august..
I have my mums dogs staying with me in august and i do not want to be responsible for them getting frisky if they do not get her spayed lol.
Told mum that if they decide to try again that i will keep Jess here from the day they mate until she has the litter that way i can keep a very close eye on her and make sure she has no stress.
Just thought i would update.

Good idea.
My mom's having Tubby the chihuaha spayed this next Wendsday. She's so nervous about it. I told her it'd be ok.
She's having another false pregnancy.. UGH... |

I second that...not to mention dogs that are intact are at a higher risk for infection...we all know how I feel about THAT...
Glad things are going better for ya though I would recommend a spay just to be on the safe side for the dog.
