I have booked jess in to see my vet today for another ultrasound scan as i think she may have reabsorbed her litter, She is not gaining any weight her mammary glands are still swelling but only slightly and there is no milk coming out, She has no discharge from her vulva but still seems happy and content,

She has been digging her blankets the past couple of days but still no movement and no weight gain.

When i spoke to the vet this morning she thinks she may have absorbed the litter at an earlier date but she also said that she could only have a couple of pups and they could be still high up so would not see any movement or weight gain.

I am so worried i don't want her to become sick.

I have asked my mum if she definatly got her dates right which she said was the 24th of january but she was still in heat 1 1/2 weeks later, She does not know if he caught her again as she works and my stepdad was at home and he would not admit to letting them together...

First scan vet said that for the date the pups looked abit on the small side and again asked my mum if she had the correct date of mating..
So could be she did not concieve until a later date.

Oh i am so confused will see what scan shows this afternoon and will keep you all posted of what happens.

Had scan done and its sad news she has aborted the litter and she has passed them and ate them without me knowing.

He did say she in perfect health otherwise, no reason not to try again but decided not to...

Sorry to hear that news. Nature does some strange things. Hope the UK isn't having the pet food problems we are having here.

I wouldnt know about the petfood problems if there are any Dukesdad as jess is fed on raw tripe and cooked heart, My dogs are now on beta large breed complete food.

As for jess i am just happy she is ok and there is nothing wrong with her after the lost of the litter, My mum is going to have her spayed when its safe to do so as she dont want her going through this again

It's good news that Jess is okay sad to hear about the loss of the litter. I was worried about a pyo if she re-absorbed some and not others etc... But since you've found out what exactly has happened you should be in the clear.

Sorry to hear about the litter...urgh...

Awww Sorry to hear that!!!
Glad she's ok though. I know loosing a litter is tough. Precious lost her first.
Maybe its a good thing since she's still young.
