Hi everybody,

I haven't been on in a while. I have been busy with uni work. My last assignment is due tomorrow.

I am so sad. Kitty has been missing for 2 weeks. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

She was out one day and didn't come home. She is microchipped and she had a collar on. Even if she lost her collar, she is microchipped.

I rang the local vets two days after she didn't return home and also rang the local pound and also sent them a flyer with Kitty's photo on it as well as my contact number. The pound said that a lady rang them saying she had a stray cat from my area. They didn't get her number down nor a description of the cat. All they got from her was the area she was in and it happens to be my suburb. I haven't heard anything for 2 weeks. I have put posters up and have also delivered flyers to the houses in the streets around my area. Kitty has never been out ALL night before. And it is so no t her to go walkies. I am told by everyone that cats are fair-weather friends and that you don't own them, they own you... but Kitty is not like that. (maybe I am wrong). She explores, but stays within the vicinity of the house. I come home and 10 minutes later she is at the door usually.

What do I do if the lady has Kitty? And that cat was her. I have no idea where in my suburb that lady is. If only I rang sooner. But I didn't think she was lost. I just didn't know. I am also going to put a lost ad in the local newspaper.

I miss my little girl so much. I got her 2 days before xmas 2 years ago. I can't bear xmas without her.

Oh Wildflower, I'm so sorry to hear Kitty is missing Crying or Very sad It sounds like you're doing everything you can to find her. If I were you I would keep putting posters up, and going door to door with her picture. Maybe use a whole day and cover as much of your suburb as you can, and leave flyers in everybody's mailbox. And keep calling shelters and vets in your area. Don't give up. I'll be thinking of you, and I hope you find her soon *hugs*

*HUGS* I'm so sorry about Kitty. Don't lose hope. Keep searching. If the lady called them, her number should show up on their phone bill. Would they be kind enough to call her back and inquire about the cat she found? Thinking of you and Kitty.

I am SO sorry to hear about this. You should print up a lot of "missing cat" flyers with Kitty's picture (as large and clear as possible) on the top with some info (including how to contact you) at the bottom. It can help to offer a reward. Put them up all over your neighborhood and surrounding areas. Get yourself some gallon-size ziploc bags to place each flyer in to protect them against the rain, and then staple them to telephone poles at busy intersections and anywhere else you can think of (like bulletin boards of local stores).

GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi. I'm so sorry about Kitty. Sad She is such a cutie. I agree with the others about making a bunch of fliers and getting them out. Is someone does have her they may see one of your fliers at the local food store, pet shop and so on. I really hope you get her back. Keep us posted.

Thanks guys,

The phone bill is a good idea, but doesn't it only work for outgoing calls? The ones you get billed for?

I just don't know how far she could have gone. I have done as you have suggested. I have delivered over 200 flyers to nearby houses AND have put up posters. The ad in the newspaper will go in this week.

Do you think that lady could have kept her? (if it was Kitty she had). I was doing some research and this is what I came up with. There is an Act in Australia called the Companion Animals Act and it was set up in 1998. Part of it reads...

If your animal is found lost or straying by a member of the public, the person that finds the animal has an obligation to either return it directly to you if you can be identified, or to take it promptly to a council pound. Failure to do so is an offence with a maximum penalty of $2,200.

I hope she comes back or news of her whereabouts turns up soon.

Thanks for your great ideas everyone. Thanks for replying to the post.

Wildflower, you are right about the phone bill showing only outgoing numbers. My bad. Brick wall d'oh! One would hope that the lady kept the stray kitty. It is not uncommon for cats to wonder into garage doors and sheds and get locked for a couple of weeks. I hope Kitty finds home soon safe and sound.

I'm sorry your kitty is lost. I really hope she'll come back soon. It does sound like you are doing everything possible to find her. Hang in there. Maybe the ad in the paper will help. She is such a cute kitty.

I don't know if you have public access channels where you live but if you do and they have a video bulletin board, you could ask them to put in ad on the channel saying your kitty is missing. We've done that in our community.

Still NO sign of Kitty.

I am still trying to be positive. Maybe she has found a new family? I hope for her sake she is happy and well and is being spoilt as much as she was when she was in my care.

Kisses to Kitty wherever she may be!

Thanks for all your kind messages.

Hi everyone!!!

I haven't been here in AGES!! In fact, it has been MONTHS!

Things have been hectic with uni and work and personal life. Ended a 4 year relationship in March, I think we were just growing apart. Looking forward to the future.

Just an update. Kitty has not returned since she went missing and my gut feeling says that she may have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I hope she is at peace.

Tiger went through a stage of grieving. He lost a fair amount of weight and I really think that he missed Kitty very much. He is well now and has put the weight back on and is a very handsome boy.

Hope all is well with everyone.

I am off to read all these posts that I am yet to read and catch up with what has been happening!

Thanks for your comments every one. I wished it were better news than it is, but that's life I suppose.

Have a good weekend everyone! I am off to do some study for Forensic Chemistry and Biochemistry. My exams start at the end of this week! I just want to pass!!!!

The weather in Sydney is miserable so I suppose that helps when you are attempting to study - the less distractions there are, the better!
