I'm new here but very worried.
We have a cat that is old. Not sure of age my husband has had him for 7-9 yrs and he was an adult when he got him.
The prob is this...
For the last couple days he has not been himself. He is norm very vocal but he has been really quiet and he has made a bed in my daughters dresser drawer. Not sure if he is going downstairs to eat. He ignores the other cats and everyone eles in family.
I know he is old cause his coat used to be a very pretty deep dark gray and now it is turning well Gray gray.
Any advice???

| Hi and welcome to Auspet. The best advice I can give you is to take him to the vet to get an exam. Let us know how he's doing. I wish all the best and hope he will be okay. |

When any cat starts acting differently and especially if its hiding away and being anti-social its usually a sign that the cat isn't feeling well, as the cat is older it could be any number of things.
I agree with chessmind - a trip to the vet is needed & let us know how hes doing |

the greying hairs could be a fever coat.
I'd get him to the vet for a thorough exam |

| Did you bring your cat to the vet? This could be many different things and in an older cat it is alarming. Please let us know how he is doing. |
