How do I stop my dog urinating in house!

My 3 year old, neutered, mixed breed is urinating in the house. I clean the spot(s) w/vinegar+water solution to eliminate the smell, but he will often go to the same spot. I can never catch him in the act! I think it is more marking territory than relieving himself.

The doggy door is always open and he has the run of a fenced yard. I have an older female (spayed) dog who does not do this. He gets lots of love and attention so I don't think it's insecurity.

Any ideas on how to stop this behavior?

any change in behavior warrants a vet check. I'd start with having him checked for a urinary tract infection. If he doesn't have one then deal with it as behaviorial. But first you need to make sure his behavior isn't related to some health issue

Vinegar and water mixture is not good enough to clean up the pee. You need an enzymatic cleaner. I have tried them ALL and love Oxy-clean. Get the powder stuff and mix it up fresh each time. It's a little of a hassle but well worth it.
