My 3 year old, neutered, mixed breed is urinating in the house. I clean the spot(s) w/vinegar+water solution to eliminate the smell, but he will often go to the same spot. I can never catch him in the act! I think it is more marking territory than relieving himself.
The doggy door is always open and he has the run of a fenced yard. I have an older female (spayed) dog who does not do this. He gets lots of love and attention so I don't think it's insecurity.
Any ideas on how to stop this behavior? |

| any change in behavior warrants a vet check. I'd start with having him checked for a urinary tract infection. If he doesn't have one then deal with it as behaviorial. But first you need to make sure his behavior isn't related to some health issue |

| Vinegar and water mixture is not good enough to clean up the pee. You need an enzymatic cleaner. I have tried them ALL and love Oxy-clean. Get the powder stuff and mix it up fresh each time. It's a little of a hassle but well worth it. |
