I have 5 freshwater angelfish in a 55 gal and am contemplating getting a few more in hopes of coming out with a pair. I was wondering if I should feed them only flake food or mix it up with frozen/live foods. Thanks for the advice in advance. I'll post a pic of the tank if anyone wants to see it, it is my first planted tank. There are 6 amazon swords in there and one has a seperate plant growing off of it |

So is your goal to eventually remove all but the 1 pair of angels? If not, I think 5 or 6 angels is pretty much the limit for a 55 gallon tank.
And for foods, yes, you can definiatly mix it up a little with frozen & live foods (things like blood worms, pieces of shrimp, mosquito larvae, etc).

| Yes once I get a pair that either shows themselves or even lays a group of eggs I will put them in either a 20 gal tall or 29 gal by themselves hoping that I will get more spawns from them. I got some nice fish from a local pet store that gets there angels from 3 or 4 local breeders. |
