Cat panting when going to vet

I have to take my 2 cats to the vet tomorrow. They pant bad and breathe heavy- cause they don't like to leave my house. Will this be OK? Nothing bad can really happen to them when they breathe like this- right? Its about a 10 minute car ride to my vet. I hate having to take them, but they need to go.
Anyone else's cat do this too???

you could get some Bach's Rescue Remedy, a natural calming agent, and give it to them an hour before going. That might help relax them a bit

Really? OK...I will look for it...any store in particular that would sell it?
If I can't get that- I do have Feliway to spray, but that never helped them calm down (believe it or not)...SO, I dunno.
But, as long as nothing bad can happen to them from panting or breathing heavy....I will feel better!!?

youc an get Rescue remedy at GNC or a health food store - it's kinda pricey (by my means anyway) but it works well...on most animals

My girl pants too after 5 minutes in the car. She crys too.

Very sad. I need to find a closer vet since mine is 15 minutes away.

I heard you can cover their car carrier with a light sheet or something. It might be worth a try.

My vet is a 25min bus ride away... Raz hates it. but i sing to him and he calms down in the end. plus i keep my hand against the carrier door to feel.

The last time we had Toonces at the vet, she gave herself a fever. I need to remember to look for that Rescue Remedy. Maybe it would calm Romeo down some too (he turns into a little tazmanian devil when being examined).

I feel sooooooo bad taking them, but they need to go and get checked!! I have a new Vet, who is a sweetheart- She specializes in Cats...and she saved my one cats life. He is a diabetic, and she helped him. He had Kerotones (spelt wrong) and stones on his kidneys. She saved him...and now he is doing A-Ok. My other 2 cats who are going today- haven't met her yet, but I want them to meet her so she will know them & have a file for them...just incase anything happens where I need her (God forbid!)

Sierra pants too, and her yowling sounds like a little kid vomiting. I notice if I talk to her softly, leave my music off, and touch her every now and then, it relieves the stress until we get there. Luckily she's a healthy girl and doesnt need to go often!
Tell us how that Rescue Remedy works...Is it a pill or something? I was never good at giving cats pills...*looks at the scratch marks on her arm.* Confused
