is there a way to sex juvanile/young cichlids by behavior ? i think i am going to buy a red devil for my 75g tank and keep it with a common pleco, but i only want a male. any one know how if and how i could sex them?

Nope, not by behavior.

I think with midas, the only ways to sex them are the presence of a nuchal hump on mature males and maybe by the fin length (could be wrong about the fin length applying to midas). Either one of those probably won't be too useful for juveniles.
